A faster WarStrikes, with less noise

The live map and feed you use every day are still here. We made them faster to scan, and we removed the parts that showed opinions or predictions instead of what sources report.

Faster to scan

— The map and the live feed now fill the first screen.

— Reports open beside the map, so you keep your place. Use K and J to move between them.

— The last 24 hours are counted by region at the top of the feed — tap a region to filter.

— New reports join the feed and the map while you watch; no need to reload.

What we removed, and why

— Predictions and “accuracy” scores — we report what sources say; we don’t forecast targets.

— Threat levels, “hot / warm” labels and the conflict clock — they can’t be derived from single reports.

— Live TV, ads and the donation prompt — third-party content and tracking we don’t want next to the data.

— The open map chat — it was hard to keep safe and accurate. To contribute, send a source instead: we review it and, if we use it, link to it.

What stays the same

— Every report links to its original source and shows how precise its location is.

— Old links keep working: every report keeps its address, and your theme is kept.

New

— A daily briefing for every day, with reports by region and the key developments, each linked to its sources.

— Clean headlines: emoji, channel tags and the ads some channels append to posts are removed.

— Send a source and Report an error: a person reviews every contribution before anything changes.

— Times in your local time, with UTC in every report.

— Analytics only if you agree, the same rules for every visitor. No advertising.
