Data Use & API Policy
Rules for using, citing, copying or redistributing WarStrikes data and API outputs.
1. What this policy covers
WarStrikes Data means any information produced or organised by WarStrikes.com, including:
- Strike and conflict event records (titles, summaries, timestamps, coordinates, theater labels, event types, verification labels)
- Source references and links attached to events
- API responses from
/api/events,/api/briefing,/api/inteland/api/stats - Event pages at
/event/{id}, theater views, briefings and derived map presentations
Underlying third-party sources remain subject to their own terms. WarStrikes organises and presents open-source material; it is not the primary publisher of those sources.
2. Permitted use (no licence required)
The following uses are permitted without prior written approval, provided attribution requirements in Section 4 are met:
- Linking directly to individual WarStrikes event pages or the WarStrikes homepage
- Citing WarStrikes in journalism, research, newsletters or social posts with a visible link to the relevant event page
- Personal, non-commercial reference to a small number of individual events
- Quoting brief excerpts for commentary or criticism with clear attribution
