Privacy Policy
How WarStrikes.com handles visitor information, cookies and analytics.
Overview
WarStrikes.com is an independent conflict monitoring website. This policy explains what limited technical information may be processed when you visit the site, and how cookies are used.
For rules on copying or redistributing WarStrikes event data, see the Data Use & API Policy.
Information we process
When you visit WarStrikes.com, standard web server and security logs may record:
- IP address and approximate region (via CDN / hosting logs)
- Browser type, device type and requested pages
- Date and time of requests
- Security and rate-limiting signals used to protect the service
WarStrikes does not sell personal data. WarStrikes does not require account registration to use the public map.
Cookies and analytics
WarStrikes may use cookies or similar technologies for:
- Essential operation — security, load balancing and consent preferences
- Analytics — aggregated usage statistics (e.g. Google Analytics) to understand how the site is used, subject to your consent where required
- Advertising — third-party ad networks that help fund free access, subject to your consent where required
You can manage cookie preferences using the consent banner on the site. Denying non-essential cookies does not block access to the public map.
Third-party services
WarStrikes relies on third-party services that may process technical data under their own policies, including:
- Cloudflare (CDN, security and performance)
- Google Analytics (usage analytics, when enabled)
- Map tile providers (e.g. OpenStreetMap contributors)
- Advertising partners (when enabled and consented)
Event source links on WarStrikes point to external websites (news outlets, social platforms, etc.). Those sites have their own privacy policies.
Data retention
Server and security logs are retained for a limited period necessary for operations, abuse prevention and troubleshooting. Analytics data is retained according to the analytics provider’s configuration.
Your rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct or delete personal data we hold about you. Because WarStrikes processes minimal personal data and does not operate user accounts, many requests may not apply.
